Holidays, Life Hot Chocolate and Dieting December 7, 2018

About a week ago, I decided that I really wanted to lose weight. I’ve said this before but never really stuck with it or set out with a serious mind set (with the exception of right after I had my children). I have small all of my life with the exception of the last several years. I was diagnosed with PCOS which also causes my body to be insulin resistant, so I have a much harder time losing weight now. I have had success with no carb diets because of this issue in the past so I began to search for what method would work best for me.

I remembered seeing my grandmother’s doctor several years ago and he had lost over 100 pounds on the Dukan Diet. I also have a friend that had had success with this diet and it also is a mainly protein diet which works very well for my body. I read the book and really like what I have read. There are four stages to the diet and you gradually add back foods. It hasn’t been a hard diet and I haven’t gone hungry the first couple of days I did crave sweets. I think the Christmas shows with all of the cookies were helping with that! I also love to bake and make candy this time of year but I have decided not to make any until the week of Christmas.

I am on day 9 of this diet and so far I have lost 13 pounds. I think once you see success it encourages you to keep it up. I did start craving hot chocolate in the evenings for some reason, I am not normally a big hot chocolate drinker. Again, I blame the Hallmark Christmas shows! I started looking around on the internet for recipes and came across one that is really good and it hasn’t interrupted my diet at all, I have continued to lose weight while having one cup of this in the evening.
